“A Vascedda siciliana” is a hand-woven basket, traditionally made from interwoven strips of rush. It was originally used by cheesemaker for shaping cheese, allowing to drain the serum or Vastedda del Belìce in the Trapani provice of Sicily. Now this masterpiece of natural material handcraft design can be use for carrying bread, eggs, or fruit.
Materials: Sicilian wild Common rush (Juncus effusus (L., 1753).
Dimensions: Long 28 cm; Large 22 cm; height 9 cm; weight 300 g
